Dr. Manveen Singh
Associate Professor & Associate Dean of Academics at Jindal Global Law School
Prof. (Dr.) Manveen Singh is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). He is also the Director of the Graduate Program and one of the founding faculty members of the Jindal Initiative on Research in IP and Competition Law (JIRICO). Dr. Singh’s primary areas of research are intellectual property rights, technology law, standard essential patents, intersection of intellectual property and competition law and the law of evidence. Dr. Singh completed his Ph.D. from Jindal Global Law School; his doctoral thesis being on standardization and the licensing of standard essential patents (SEPs). He holds an LL.M. in IP Law from University College London (UCL), where he was awarded the Master of the Rolls Scholarship, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University. Manveen has published on Criminal Law and Intellectual Property Law in a number of national and international journals and also has several book chapters to his credit. He is actively involved in research and writing and was the recipient of the Award for Teaching Excellence at Jindal Global Law School, in the year 2015
Shobana Iyer

Shobana is a practicing barrister and arbitrator based in London with a wealth of knowledge and experience of working on challenging and technically complex commercial and corporate cases frequently involving IP/IT related issues. She has experience in a variety of industry sectors including renewable energy, insurance, digital marketing, financial, retail, sports, creative as well as the TMT sector. She is commonly instructed directly by international lawyers for arbitration and jurisdictional matters and regularly deals with issues on conflict of laws. Shobana is an appointed member of the IT Panel and Legal Services Committee of the Bar Council of England and Wales, playing an active role on key issues in data protection and emerging technologies (AI & Blockchain in particular). She was appointed the Chair of the ‘Civil Remote Hearings Working Group’ which was formed to deal with the urgent transition for court hearings to be dealt with remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shobana graduated from Kings College London with a BSc (Biomedical Science) and an LLB from Brunel University West London and LLM from Queen Mary University of London on Corporate and Commercial Law.
Yashvardhan Rana

Yashvardhan Rana is an Intellectual Property Lawyer with a particular focus on IP prosecution – from registrability analysis and risk management to providing legal opinion on the availability of use, adoption and registrability of trademarks to be launched by Fortune 500 companies as well as top FMCGs in India. He is a part of the Trademarks, Copyright and Design Prosecution team at Inttl Advocare, Noida, India and advises on trade mark protection strategies, copyright and design issues, certain aspects of strategic brand management and advisory, IP auditing and due diligence to portfolio management, transactional advice and agreement drafting, permitted user/registered user recordals and other procedural compliances. In January, 2020 he was appointed as an Editor, The TradeMark Reporter, INTA and in November, 2019, he was the recipient of the Top 50 Emerging IP Professional in the world award – The IPR Gorilla, 2nd Edition held in Dubai. Recently, he has been inducted as an ‘esteemed member’ of the FICCI IP Forum for IP Professionals to address the existing and evolving IPR issues in India alongwith stalwarts from the legal industry.
